About our Weekend away

It was just what we needed: a quick overnight getaway, sitting around a campfire, enjoying a few drinks, doing some camp oven cooking, and telling bad jokes. 

The last few weeks have been rather hectic, with a lot happening around us. Taking 24 hours away from home was the perfect way to clear our heads.

About our weekend away

Our two-day getaway to Hidden Gold Homestead in the South Burnett region was an unforgettable experience. The picturesque location on the banks of Bjelke-Petersen Dam, surrounded by ancient forests, national parks, lakes, and rich farmland, was the perfect setting for a wine-tasting adventure. We visited some small family producers passionate about their award-winning wines, and were impressed by the quality and variety of wines. Cloverly Estate Cellars and Dusty Hill Vineyard.  Our stay was beyond amazing! We spent our mornings relaxing on the deck, sipping coffee, and indulging in the best muffins we've had. And let's not forget about the wines - we couldn't resist trying a few before lunchtime!

 One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Witchery Falls Winery - the wine was delicious, and the views were breathtaking! We also attended a beautiful wedding at the lodge, which was the perfect way to spend an evening.

 As our trip ended, we felt truly rejuvenated and refreshed. Cedar Creek Lodges is the perfect destination if you're looking for a break from the city's hustle and bustle. Trust us, you won't regret it!
